While some may know it colloquially as "break dancing" due to the influence of mainstream media, the dance form is known by insiders as "breaking." It began in the 1970s streets of New York, getting its name from popular moves that are often paired with breakbeat music. The style was believed to be pioneered by Latin American and African American youth in the Bronx, with street corner DJs creating space for dancers to show off their moves, incorporating elements from sports like gymnastics and other dance forms from their communities, like capoeira and disco.

"I always wanted to be in a girl group. I just love being a part of a team," she says, noting that she grew up participating in competitive gymnastics and dance. "I know what it's like to be a part of something. I've always loved lifting women up."
"Our two daughters have been enrolled at Sagamore for two years. They love it, and we love it. Our girls favorite days of the week is at gymnastics. What I love besides that my kids are happy is that the coaches and staff treat our kids like their own."
Congratulations to the Hanover Swim Team on their victory against Powhatan on Senior Night! Both the girls and boys team won their meets, with the girls score 121-46, and the boys score 118-45.
